Puffy Watermelon Slime Play for Kids

Kids will go nuts over the fun-to-squeeze puffy texture of this watermelon slime! This puffy slime recipe is such a fun watermelon activity for toddler, preschool, pre-k, kindergarten, and first graders to play with. Watermelon Slime

We love themed activities in our house. Which is why taking a homemade puffy slime and turning it into an EPIC watermelon slime was a huge hit in our house. This quick and easy-to-make slime made awesome watermeon acivities for preschoolers, kindergartners, toddlers, grade 1, and grade 2 students. They had fun squishing the puffy texture, watching it ooze and sheet, and making slides of watermelon as they played with this fun play recipe perfect for your watermelon theme. And nothing says summertime like watermelon so this activity is perfect for summer activities for kids.

Watermelon fluffy slime

All you need to whip up a batch of this slime recipe are a few simple ingredients you may already have on hand:

• 2-3 cups white Shaving Cream
• red food Coloring
• 1-2 tablespoon contact solution
• 1 Bottle of White School Glue (7.6 oz)
• Green Paper Plates (We got our from the party section at Target! to stage so it looks like the slime is inside of watermelon and plates cut in half are the rind)
• Black pony beads (or dry black beans)

Watermelon activities for kindergarten

I know everyone loves exact slime recipes, but sometimes slime is a little fickle depending on the brand or even freshness of your materials. So we eye balled the exact quantities a little bit with the shaving cream to get the right consistency. But basically you are going to put in a whole bottle of white school glue, a squirt of shaving cream, food coloring to make a light red color, more shaving cream (about 2-3 cups total), and add 1 tablespoon of contact solution at a time and mix until you get the right consistency.

This puffy watermelon slime has such a fun cloud-like texture. It is like playing with marshmallows, except it’s a liquid that flows together and it isn’t sticky.

Then gather the slime in your hands and let gravity slowly pull it down again. This slime is thicker, fluffier, than regular slime. But it still sheets, stretches, flows, and feels amazing to play with. Actually, I think it is my favorite slime!

My kids couldn’t stop squeezing it to fill the thick, fluffy slime come out from between their fingers. This seriously has the best feel. This is a really cool sensory activity for kids and is great for strengthening hand muscles too!

Once my kids had a change to squeeze, stretch, pull, and ooze the slime, we decided to keep with the watermleon theme by making cute watermelon slime creations.

Watermelon Theme

We cut the green paper plates in half and then smoothed the fluffy slime and black pony bead seeds on top to make watermelon slices. YOu can let the slime harden to make a cute, puffy paint style, watermelon craft.
