This is such a simple, NO PREP, activity to help Kindergarten age kids practice CVC Words.
Just print, cut in strips, and give kids a strip at a time.
Start by coloring the picture, which is great for strengthening fine motor skills.

Next kids sound out the word and spell using letters they will then cut and paste next to the picture they colored.

Finally, Kindergartners will write the word they just spelled on the line.
Repeat with the remaining 17 short a words.

  3. Hi, Beth,
    I am a special ed teacher in Paterson, NJ. I teach a self-contained MD class of students in grades K-2. I am putting together packets for my students that will be copied and distributed as many families to not have access to computers and the internet for homeschooling. May I copy these resources and email to my principal to make copies for my students? I don’t want to do anything that might be prohibited.
