All you need are a few simple craft supplies to make this cute turkey craft:

• white cardstock
• paint (we used washable crayola paint)
• marbles
• brown ribbon
• hole punch
• yarn (we used coordinating colors to our paint)
• google eyes
• orange and red construction paper
• scissors

Start by making some marble painted pages. If you’ve never tried this fun marble painting project, it is lots of fun! In a containter, such as a disposable foil pan, put a piece of white cardstock and a marble. You will either dip the marble in paint or put a puddle of paint in the corner of your pan. Now lift and tilt the pan to move the marble through the paint and accross the paper to create a striking pattern.

For this particular project you want your paper to be at least half saturated with the color. You can make just one color paintings or do a couple colors. We opted to make all one color for a dramatic look.

You will want to make at least 4 sheets or painted paper.

Let the marble-painted paper dry completely before moving on. Isn’t it so pretty! This would make fun cards or wrapping paper too!

Now cut your paper into feather shapes.

This part is optional, but it will give your turkey project eve more interest. Hole punch around each of the feathers you cut out. Now use a coordinating color of yarn and have chidlren lace around the holes.

HINT: This is a great way to help children work on fine motor skills!

Now it’s time to make your turkey body. Carefully use scissors to cut out a figure eight out of construction paper, make the top circle is smaller. Now wrap the turkey body in brown ribbon until you can barely see any of the white cardstock below. Tuck the end in on the back (you pick which side you like best!)

Now add the face to your yarn-wrapped turkey body. We used big google eyes, orange construction paper beak, and a red wattle from cardstock. Use whatever you have on hand.

Use tape or glue to affix the turkey feathers to the back of your project. If you like you can add orange pipe cleaners to make feet for the bottom too.
