- Arctic fox -These smart hunters have thick, coloring changing fur that helps them camouflage into their surroundings. They have fur on their paw pads, short snouts and small ears, all of which help keep them warm in the freezing temperatures.
- Arctic HareArctic hares are super-fast lagomorphs with furry feet that they use to hop across the snow and for digging food such as moss and twigs. They have long, black eyelashes that help protect their eyes from the bright sun and glare.
- CaribouCaribou are deer that are known for their special hooves that they use for walking on snow and digging for food. Known for their huge migrations, they travel in large hers for safety. Both male and female caribou grow antlers which they shed and regrow every year.
- NarwhalNarwhals are known as the ‘unicorns of the sea,’ due to their long, spiraled tooth or tusk. These deep divers have blubber to stay warm, use echolocation to navigate and change color as they age.

- SealThese marine mammals have streamlined bodies and a thick layer of blubber that helps keep them warm in the cold climate. Great at swimming, they use their whiskers to find fish and squid, even in dark water. Seals are able to sleep in water by slowing down their heartbeat. They can even hold their breath for up to 2 hours.
- Snowy OwlSnowy owls are large, white birds with bright yellow eyes. They have amazing hearing, with the ability to hear prey under the snow. They also have very soft feathers, which allow them to fly without making a sound.
- WalrusThese huge mammals have long tusks that are actually giant canine teeth. These teeth continue to grow throughout their lives. They use them to pull themselves onto the ice, break breathing holes in the ice and to fight. They have super-sensitive whiskers which they use to find clams on the seafloor.
- Arctic WolfWith thick fur and furry paws to help them stay warm, Arctic wolves hunt muskoxen, hares, lemmings, birds and caribou. Living in packs, they howl to talk to each other and protect their territory. Baby wolves, known as pups, are born in the spring and the whole pack helps to raise them.
