This black and white activity is a fun no-prep activity, which children can decorate to their own liking after reading and learning about each of the decades. SImply set out crayons, colored pencils, or markers to decoarte the cute clipart depicting life in America throughout the different decades.

Children can practice their reading while reading the passages about each of the decades, before coloring in the objects that they read about. They can also research any of these objects and / or the decade to learn more about them, writing their thoughts on a separate page and creating a history of the decades book when finished.

• 1920s for kids coloring page – In the roaring twenties automobiles, gramaphones, and radios were affordable to the average middle class family. Jazz music was popular. Women were given the right to vote, kept jobs they held during WW1, and began to dress differently.
• 1930s for kids coloring page – Due to the Great Depresssion the 30s was a hard time for people. To distract themselves people went to movies, read books, listened to music, and watched sports. This era is known as the Golden Age of Hollywood and many movies were produced during this time period.
• 1940s for kids coloring page – Half of the 40s was dominated by World War 2. After the war ended the Baby Boomer generation came about as did many technological advancements such as jet engine, nuclear fusion, and rocket technology. They began exploring air and space.
• 1950s for kids coloring page – In the 50s famlies were moving out to the suburbs, watching 12″ black and white television sets, and men were generally the sole providers while women took care of the home and children. Rock and roll music emerged and teenagers went to soda parlors to listen to Elivs on the Juke Box and dance the sock hop.
• 1960s for kids coloring page – The sixties was a decade of revolution and protest to unpopular involvment in foreign wars. Fashion trends included deep dark colors, plaids, furs and hats, mini-skirts and go-go boots.
• 1970s for kids coloring page – The 70s fashion was cominated by bell bottom pants, flowing maxi dresses, ponchos, and frayed jeans. People began dancing Disco and more .
• 1980s for kids coloring page – The 80s was a decade filled with pop culture and fashion with bright, bold colors and oversized clothing. People styled big hair, listened to walkman, rollerskated, used polaroid cameras, and many started doing aerobics.
• 1990s for kids coloring page  – The 90s was a decade of technological change including personal computers, the internet, movies, and television shows like Friends. New dance moves evolved and and the fast food scene grew.
• 2000s for kids coloring page – The 2000s came with many fearing Y2K and what would happen when computers moved to 00. In this decade computers and the internet became the norm, DVDs took over the videocassett scene, everyone was playing snake, and personal cell phones were all the rage.
