Kids will have fun learning their shapes as they trace the shape and color their very own shapes emergent reader. This is a great activity for toddler, preschool, pre k, kindergarten, and first grade students.
Trace the Shape
This is an easy, LOW PREP activity to help kids learn the names of shapes. Print the black and white worksheets and cut in half. Then stack with the cover on front and staple along the left side on the staple marks. Now children will be able to trace the shapes.

Now your  student is ready to practice identifying shapes in the real world, what shapes are named, and how to spell shape words!

Now print the black and white pages on plain printer paper. Cut the pages in half so students will stack them up, staple along the left margin, and make a shape reader.
Finally, have students color the shape worksheets with crayons, markers, colored pencils, gel pens, or whatever other writing utensil they like. The sheets are filled with clipart of real world shapes and and the shape name to trace so students can work on learning shape names. The mini book includes the following shapes:
