My daughter loved the last Search and Find Activity that we did and has been requesting a new one. I asked her what theme she wanted and she said a Farm theme alphabet activity. That may or may not have anything to do with the day we spent at our state fair a few weeks ago, but I would say it does! If your kids love animals and fun, interactive alphabet activities – this ABC Farm Animals Search and Color Activity is perfect for them.
ABC Farm Animals
Learning the alphabet is critical but for some kids it is the last thing they want to do. Even if your kids enjoy alphabet activities, making them exciting and fun is important. We created this ABC sensory bottle filled with ABC beads and that is fun on it’s own. Throw in a color by letter printable or two and kids are set!
Farm Animal Alphabet
What You’ll Need: Empty Water Bottle Clear Hair Gel ABC Beads Colorful Beads Super Glue I literally picked up all of the supplies for the ABC Sensory Bottle at the dollar store. I figured if it fell apart then at least I didn’t spend too much on it. These things were all purchased everything and created this fun bottle for $5 and you know what, it’s held up for over 3 months and counting.
How We Made It: I squeezed a little hair gel into the empty water bottle. Added a handful of ABC and Color Beads. Added more hair gel and then more beads. I continued the process until there was only about 2 inches left on the top. I super glued the lid closed and shook that bottle with all my might. After about 45 seconds the beads were all mixed in well and it was ready to go.
Farm Animal Printable
Our Farm Animal inspired Color By Letter printable set is super fun. Each page includes different colors to add variety to the activity. Each page has a series of images on them with letters assigning color to each part of the picture. Kids can use the printables alone (without the ABC Bead Sensory Bottle) and follow the chart at the top to color the pictures in.
Combining the ABC Sensory Bottle and the Farm Animal Color By Letter Printables is super easy.
I set up the activity for my daughter. I told her to pick a letter form the key box on the printable. Take the sensory bottle and search for that particular letter. Once the letter is found, color all the corresponding parts on the picture with the assigned color. Repeat the process until the page is colored completely. Â This is a super fun activity. It is perfect for car rides, waiting rooms, or a calm afternoon at home. Don’t forget it was less than $5 to put together and has lasted for months!
