This craft uses some paint and simple supplies to make an adorable jellyfish. It's always a lot of fun to for the kids to see how their hand print can turn into something else. For this craft, we make a purple hand print for the jellyfish body, although any favorite color can be used. It's a simple and hands-on way to learn about the letter J!

First, print the printable to go along with this craft. We like to practice the letter on the first page before making our handprint, and we do the next page while the handprint is drying.

Start by painting the palm and fingers of one hand purple. Don't paint the thumb.

Next, turn the first page of the printable upside-down, and make the purple handprint in the middle of the page. Turn the page right-side-up and you'll have the handprint. The jellyfish body will be the palm, and the dangling fingerprints will be the tentacles.

Now it's time to make the Jellyfish's face! To do this, dip one finger in white paint. Make two dots on the face for eyes. Use a paintbrush and black paint to make small black dots in the center of the white dots to complete the eyes. Use the same black paint to make a mouth. Let dry and your jellyfish is complete! Rinse hands with water or wipe clean.

While your jellyfish is drying, complete the second page of the "J" is for Jellyfish worksheet for more letter "J" practice!
